I tried the Johnson diner recently for dinner and it was a good experience overall. First impression of the diner is that it's really clean and bright! Our waiter, Sean was helpful in recommending dishes. We loved all our food as well. Definitely try the calamari!

These people get it right! A good diner in riverdale is a diamond. Most restaurants in Riverdale do not cater to a wide audience given we are a diverse neighborhood. This diner has a good mix of dishes and some good simple comfort food too. I eat here a few times a week. Will give five stars when all the servers learn to make an egg cream

This Diner is just what the neighborhood needed. Who doesn't love a good diner. Establishment is clean and staff is amazing. They're vibrant knowledgeable of the items on the menu plus so nice. Went on Saturday maybe a 7 minute wait. It was a beautiful day so I ordered a Frozen Froze with a fat cheeseburger with onions rings. The portion sizes were huge and so flavorful. My partner ordered a omelette with bacon and avocado. We really enjoyed the food the service and having something so close to home.

This new diner is a big deal for the area -- it's modern, spacious, comfortable, and GOOD. Came here on a Wednesday night and got a table immediately. Inside, there are booths all around, fancy decor, and a full menu, including breakfast as all diners should have. All of the dishes here are huge and very tasty. They put out fresh warm pita for the table when you arrive. The drinks are also very affordable with all (or nearly all) cocktails at $10. The service in general was pretty good as well. All around, a great new restaurant in the area -- very solid. Chicken Bacon Ranch Fries - This is a full meal on its own but it is an appetizer. At $12, this is very affordable. The chicken was grilled to perfection and tender, the fries were crispy, the sauce was plentiful but not overpowering, and there was plenty of bacon. I will definitely be back again for this. I usually don't go for dishes like this as they just seem too typical, but I really recommend this one. Chicken Kebab - This was another great dish. The seasoned rice was delicious. The salad is a nice touch as well. The kebabs were tender and full of veggies. Our server mentioned that they precook the chicken slightly then fully cook it upon ordering (which, from the taste of this dish, seems to work very well). I saw this dish on Facebook and needed to try it -- met expectations pretty well! A few quick improvements: napkins at the table, appetizer plates and silverware upon being seated, larger to-go containers. The first two made the experience slightly less professional (which fed into the service/atmosphere scores). Value: 5/5 Quality: 4/5 Quantity: 5/5 Service: 3/5 Atmosphere: 4/5

Thank you for bringing a family friendly diner back to Riverdale. Service is outstanding. Our server Amelia F. was wonderful. Portions are large and delicious. Prices are very reasonable in these hard times. Everything tasted very fresh. The dining room is bright, light and clean. I am hoping to visit this diner on a regular basis. Truly a beautiful gem on Johnson Avenue.

Very happy to have a good diner back in the neighborhood, after Blue Bay closed. I think I already have a new favorite in the huevos rancheros - although I'll have to try the old reliable corned beef hash and eggs next time. Service was very attentive - they were eager to keep our coffee cups full. Hopefully the greedy landlord doesn't drive this place out of business like they did with Blue Bay.

This is their second day. They took over and renovated the old Blue Bay that had been open for over fifty years. The landlord raised the rent to an unaffordable level. You can see that the new owners are really trying. Space is nice and clean with smiles from everyone. Time will tell.
